Where does the time go?

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”

— Psalm 90:12

I’m having a difficult time believing it is the middle of September.  Didn’t we just begin the month of June?

I can remember my mother used to say the older she got, the faster time went.  When I was a little girl, I never understood what she was talking about.   Now I do.

I guess that means I’m getting old.

When we are children, it takes forever to finally count down the days to our birthday, or the last day of school before summer vacation, or Christmas.  Now I look at my children’s and grand-children’s faces and wonder where the time went?

I’m afraid if I blink, I’ll miss the next year!

Perhaps we need to slow down our lives a little bit.  We are so ‘involved’ in everything around us–between television, the internet and social media; perhaps we need to just stop.  Maybe we need to take time for ‘alone’ time with God and His Word.  One thing I’ve learned, if we are never quiet and still, we can never hear what He’s saying when He speaks.

Sometimes we just need to “Be still, and know that I am God;” – Psalm 46: 10a

Praying that you find time in your busy lives to spend some time with God and allow Him to touch your lives in ways only He can.

God bless you!
